~Activities~
Through family-fun activities, the PTO strives to develop a sense of community for our students and their families.
~Hospitality~
Our Hospitality Committee works hard to make meetings pleasurable by providing beverages and snacks. They also organize all of the special breakfasts and lunches that the PTO provides for our teachers several times a year.
~Playground~
The PTO works to maintain the safety and upkeep of our playground. We replace worn equipment, purchase new equipment and organize clean-up days in the spring and fall. We also purchase balls, jump ropes, chalk and sand toys for the children to use at recess.
~Publicity~
Our PTO publishes a monthly newsletter and maintains a website in order to keep all of our parents informed. If you cannot make a meeting, keep in touch with what is going on in our organization by reading the newsletters and checking the website regularly.
~Programs~
Our Programs Committee researches and schedules special guests to come into the classrooms to present enrichment programs that tie into a specific classroom curriculum.
~PTO Purpose~
The purpose of this organization is to serve as a forum for parents to work with teachers and staff to assist in serving the total school community toward the betterment of the educational process within and relative to the school.
~Ways and Means~
We could not function without funds.
Our PTO organizes fund-raising activities throughout the year to fund our yearly budgetary needs.
~Volunteers~
Our school thrives because we have such a strong volunteer base. Our volunteer committee tries to match a volunteer’s time and interests with volunteering opportunities. They also train volunteers and record and collect volunteer hours to submit for the Blue Ribbon Report.
~Math Superstars~
Our school teaches math through the Everyday Math curriculum. Our PTO builds upon that with our Math Superstars program. A weekly, grade-level appropriate homework page goes home with every student. Participation is purely voluntary. No child is graded on their participation. Children challenge themselves and classrooms win a weekly banner according to percent participation.
~School Store~
Our school store is very popular with our students. Children look forward to visiting the store to purchase classroom supplies, spirit wear, snacks, or something just for fun.
